OBJECT PERMANENCE catalogue

Styling by Leonardo Mela FERAL, project by Chiara Batistoni.

How intuitive is it to know that object that is not seen still exists?

One of the earliest concepts that human beings develop while growing up is Object Permanence: and it comes first as somewhat very counter intuitive. Anyone or anything, disappeared out of sight, is still here. Later on, this fundamental quality shapes our vision of the world: from belief systems, spirituality to our identity.

OBJECT PERMANENCE exhibition observes our relationship with presence and absence through fashioning the body. From becoming a stereotype while swiping away the human nature, to hedonistically merging with the instinctive, becoming a uniform or a shaman, breaking free, detaching oneself from your habitat, - each transformation we live finds a translation in a language of clothes, behaviour and color symbolism.

Through medium of styling, photography and sculpture, artists explore the concepts of presence, permanence and transformation. Finally, we invite you to think what will anchor us back within the world of so many realities?
